TONIGHT’S TASTE WEDNESDAY AUGUST 7, 2013

Pinotrois Label

2011 Saint Gregory Pinotrois

Tonight’s taste is featuring a wine from The Graciano Family, Saint Gregory, Pinotrois. A unique blend of pinotage, pinot meunier and pinot noir. The unique blend is a palate pleaser and should pair wonderfully with our dinner special of lobster stuffed ravioli. Stop in for a taste or two and enjoy some great food.

2012 Sensi Collezione Pinot Grigio, Delle Venezie, Italy

The nose is intense with ripe yellow fruit notes reminiscent of peach and apricot and tending towards an almost tropical fragrance. The fragrant alcoholic notes with nuances of crusty bread and acacia honey, complete this wine, bestowing finesse and substance to the bouquet.

2011 Saint Gregory Pinotrois, red blend, Mendocino County, California

A blend of 43% pinotage, 42% pinot meunier and 15% pinot noir, this magical blend from the Graziano Family has been aged in french oak from eighteen months. Ripe round fruit flavors, bright red color and rich and complex. Don’t let the color fool you on this wine. The body is bigger and richer than what might be expected. Ripe cherries and cranberries along with velvety tannins which make this a perfect accompaniment for grilled salmon.

2011 Runquist Pinot Noir, Sisters Vineyards, Carneros – Napa Valley, California

Deep ruby color with carmine hues. The aromas are of ripe cherries, and raspberries. A subtle layer of French oak delivers hints of hazelnut and vanilla to add just the right level of complexity. In the mouth, rich fruit flavors with plenty of toasty oak caress the palate. The 2006 vintage has a medium to full body Pinot Noir’s classic velvety texture.

2011 Runquist Barbara, Dick Cooper Vineyards, Amador County, California

Deep garnet purple color with a carmine edge to the hue. The aromas show plenty of black raspberry and dark cherry fruit. The bouquet features toasty oak with notes of mocha and milk chocolate. On the palate, this wine is rich and creamy. The result is a fully-textured wine with loads of red/black fruit flavors. In keeping with our ‘house style’, the tannins are mature and well integrated. The finish is long and harmonious, with a toasty oak nuance that lingers long after the wine is gone.

2011 MICA Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa Valley, California

A rich and elegant (and bold!), layered with lush blackberry and ripe red-cherries with subtle hints of espresso, dark chocolate and toffee. Well integrated oak flavors, velvety mouth-coating tannins and a long lingering finish
