2013 Canaletto Orvieto Classico, DDOC, Italy
A lovely golden color, offering a fresh, fruity nose. Clean and full of citrussy fruity, with a pleasant nuttiness on the palate and a very crisp finish.
2012 Finca Flichman Roble Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
The nose suggests aromas of pit fruits jelly (plum, cherry) combined with hints of mulberry and nuts against a light but elegant backdrop of oak. While the palate offers rich and round entry, focused, well defined plum and cherries framed by elegant, integrated wood leading to a sustained, lingering aftertaste.
2011 Canaletto Primitivo, Puglia, Italy
Intense bouquet of ripe dark berry fruits, with blackcurrants, blackberries and black cherries bursting through on the palate. Well balanced, rich, smooth and round.
2009 Spann Vineyards The Classic Four, red blend, Sonoma County, California
Caberent Sauvignon, Caberent Franc, Petite Verdot and Malbec
The Classic Four is Cabernet Sauvignon which gives the wine lovely red currant, cassis flavors and backbone, Cabernet Franc adds raspberry and wild flower aromas as well as richness on the Palate, Malbec adds a black cherry aroma and taste and Petit Verdot gives it structure for all of these flavors to stand up in your mouth.
2011 Schild Estate Shiraz, Barossa Valley, Australia
Fragrant, full aromas of blackcurrant and morello cherries supported by subtle hints of licorice and cedar wood with soft, juicy, dark berry fruit flavors fill the mouth on the front palate along with fleeting glimpses of milk chocolate, violets and sage. This core of primary fruit is framed by a definite, but fine tannin framework providing some scaffolding and allowing the wine to maintain thrust and a clear direction as it travels through the mouth finishing fruity, controlled and long.
