2010 Marilyn Meritage

2010 Marilyn Meritage

Tonight’s tasting is featuring a first released wine from the Marilyn Monroe Collection. 2010 Marilyn Meritage a $50 retail wine. Great wine for wine lovers or collectors. Stop in for a taste. And with this great weather, enjoy a sip or two on our patio.

2012 Arona Sauvignon Blanc, Marlborough, New Zealand (Certified Sustainable)

Vibrant and aromatic with rounded flavors, tropical tones, slightly softer acidity and a touch of natural sweetness. Ripe fruit flavors balance the traditional intensity of Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc. The grapefruit nose opens to a full and fruity mouthful of passion fruit and pineapple, peach and apricot.

2010 Marilyn Merlot, Napa Valley, California

The wines color is vibrantly garnet and the complex aromas of blueberries, anise and toasty oak all work in harmony for a wine worthy of its legacy. Moderate alcohol, soft fruit flavors and a lingering finish makes this wine a great companion with foods of many cuisines.

2010 Sin Zin Zinfandel, Alexander Valley, California

Decadent aromas of dried berries, cherries, spiced chai and toffee with a silky fruity-yet-dry medium-to-full body and a tangy, pomegranate jam, candied citrus, beet, and herb accented finish.

2010 Quarry Vineyards ‘The Terraces’ Zinfandel, Napa Valley, California

Dark magenta color; plush, berry, ripe black fruit nose; tasty, poised, youthful, tart berry, tart plum palate with good acidity; medium-plus finish.

2010 Marilyn Meritage (First Vintage), Napa Valley, California

The 2010 vintage Marilyn Meritage is the inaugural release of a wine whose goal is to showcase Napa Valley’s cool climate ability to make wines of classic stature within the Bordeaux tradition. The composition is 58% Cabernet Sauvignon, 27% Merlot, 6% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec and 3% Petit Verdot.

Very rich and elaborate with blackberry, cherry and cassis flavors, this wine is so tasty, it’s easy to drink glass after glass. The tannins are firm, but soft and complex. Made from all the classic Bordeaux varieties, it’s classy and elegant, and will hold in the bottle for years.
