Chateau Gamage Usha Lavie

2009 Triennes Sainte Fleur Viognier, Vin de Pays du Var, France

A fresh, dry white wine, a classy example of viognier with an exceptionally floral nose and bright fruit flavors like white peach, pear, and pineapple. It’s a subtle and charmingly acidic wine that should be paired with light foods.

2011 Darkhorse Cabernet Sauvignon, California

After the primary fermentation of the cabernet, a portion of the wine was ultra-filtered to refine tannins and remove bitterness, while retaining structure and increasing concentration. Grape sourcing was primarily northern valley (Lodi and Delta). Warm fermentation (80-85F) was used to provide great color, structure and fruit characters to this wine. The wine was stored for a period of 4-9 months in stainless steel tanks to preserve all aromas and flavors. Bold flavors of blackberry and black cherry, supported by firm tannins, brown spice and a dark chocolate espresso with hints of oak on the finish.

2009 Bridlewood Estates Cabernet Sauvignon, Paso Robles, California

A blend of 78% cabernet sauvignon, 21% merlot and a dollop of zinfandel. It offers copious amounts of black currant fruit intermixed with cedar, spice box notes, full body, sweet tannins and an opulent texture. This wine clearly over-delivers and from an area known for its robust alcohol levels, it came in at a mere 13% alcohol. WA scores this wine at 89 points.

2009 Chateau Gamage Selection Exceptionelle Bordeaux, France

A blend of 70% merlot, 15% cabernet sauvignon and 15% cabernet franc. This wine is harvested from the best plots at Chateau Gamage. Superb ruby hues, notes of mocha, cassis, vanilla, cinnamon and a touch of oak. Soft melting tannins linger on the palate. Packaged in a 6 pack wooden box with an introductory price of $20 a bottle.

NV Chateau Gamage Usha Lavie ‘U’ Crement de Bordeaux, France

Clear, straw to light with lively bubbles, citric, apple, toast, butter and yeast aromas. Very expansive and full, with a soft, fine mousse and a rich mouth feel. The bead is tiny and persistent without being frothy and lends roundness to the palate to balance the crispiness.

Goose Island IPA

Goose Island India Pale Ale recalls a time when ales shipped from England to India were highly hopped to preserve their distinct taste during the long journey. The result is a hop lover’s dream with a fruity aroma, set off by a dry malt middle, and long hop finish. ABV 5.9%

Goose Island Matilda

Wild in character, with a slightly fruity aroma and a spicy yeast flavor that is as unique as it is satisfying – Matilda is an intriguing choice for beer and wine lovers alike. Dry and quenching, it’s the perfect accompaniment at the dining table or for casually socializing at the bar. ABV 7.0%

Goose Island Pepe Nero

With an aroma of roasted chestnuts and a mysteriously dark, mahogany hue, Pepe Nero is a farmhouse ale brewed with black peppercorns. His roasty sweetness melds into a lingering, earthy, black pepper finish that is ideal for pairing with grilled meats and roasted vegetables. ABV 6.4%

Goose Island Pere Jacques

Brewed with loads of malt and Belgian yeast, Pere Jacques is a wonderfully fruity, malty ale. Pere Jacques’ complex flavors stand shoulder to shoulder with the Belgian Dubbels enjoyed in the world’s finest beer bars. At the dining table it’s the perfect alternative to a glass of vintage port. ABV 8.7%

Goose Island Sofie

Fermented with wild yeasts and aged in wine barrels with orange peel, Sofie is a tart, dry, sparkling ale. A subtle, spicy white pepper note, a hint of citrus from the orange peel and a creamy vanilla finish make Sofie an intriguing choice for Champagne drinkers and beer drinkers who are fond of Belgian Saisons. ABV 6.5%
