2010 Tapiz Chardonnay, Mendoza, Argentina
Nice white displaying sweet peach, toast and mild citrus notes. Quite balanced on acidity and alcohol. Not bombastic neither overepressed. Good companion of many dishes or by itself on a beautiful evening. It may keep itself on plateau for 4 years. An 89 point chardonnay and a very good value to enjoy every time.
2010 Castillo de Monseran Garnacha, Carinena, DDO, Spain
Best Buy two years running from WE. Floral berry aromas are fresh and carry only the slightest grassy, green element. The wine feels crisp and tight, with nice red plum and raspberry flavors. Mild, focused and not very hefty or thick on the finish.
2010 Runquist Zinfandel, Nostro Vino Vineyards, Amador County, California
Garnet color of medium depth. The hues are youthful and bright. The aroma is loaded with raspberry, red currant, and black cherry. The bouquet layers in a veneer of creamy vanilla and mildly toasted oak.
2009 McNAb Ridge Petite Sirah, Mendocino County, California
The heartiest of the red wines McNAb Ridge produces, Petite Sirah has long been a Parducci family favorite. Its intense color and dense body are complimented by layers of berries, spice, violets, black pepper and vanilla. A huge wine from beginning to end, McNab Petite Sirah is full-flavored with moderate tannins and has a lingering finish. The 2009 vintage is deep purple; drink it now or age for a more mellow flavor. Its tannin content makes aging worthwhile.
2009 Frank Family Vineyards, Cabernet Sauvignon, NAPA Valley, California
Rich dark garnet in color, the 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon opens with savory notes of leather, spice and cedar that play nicely with the aromas of black cherries simmered in brown sugar. The palate is lavish and vibrant, exploding with ripe red fruit, hibiscus flower and mocha, and backed by a subtle minerality.
Enjoy a hearty order of slow roasted short ribs simmered in our own special sauce with mushrooms and carrots along with a side order of horseradish mashed potatoes. This dish will pair perfectly with the red wines being displayed with tonight’s wine tasting. Enjoy with a side salad for only $17 plus tax and gratuity.
