2011 Santa Cristina Campogrande Orvieto Classico, DDOC, Italy
40% Procanico, 40% Grechetto, 15% Verdello, 5% Drupeggio and Malvasia.
Straw yellow in color, the wine offers intense fruity and floral aromas of green apple, pear, and white flowers. The palate is balanced, soft and fresh in the flavor with a long fruit-driven finish.
2012 Santa Cristina Le Maestrelle Toscana red blend, IGT, Italy
60% Sangiovese , 20% Merlot, 20% Syrah
Ruby red in color with purple highlights, the wine shows intense aromas of red fruit together with chocolate and mint. On the palate, the wine is balanced, of good fullness with velvety tannins; it is endowed as well with a finish and aftertaste which call back the aromas first felt on the nose.
2010 Antinori Chianti Classico ‘Peppoli’, DDOCEG, Italy
90% Sangiovese, 10% Merlot and Syrah
Ruby red in color, the 2010 Pèppoli is characterized by notes of cherry fruit well amalgamated with chocolate and vanilla from the oak aging. On the palate the wine shows much Sangiovese character with soft an silky tannins and a good persistence on the finish and aftertaste.
2006 Antinori Il Bruciato, Tenuta Guado Al Tasso, Bolgheri, Italy
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, 10% Syrah and other black varieties
Intense ruby red color. Aromas of fruit and whole red berries (especially cherries) rather than jam on the nose. Light hints of liquorice and vanilla follow from the oak. Sweet tannins and a dense structure, with a return of the fruit in the aftertaste alongside a hint of saltiness which gives the wine a lovely harmonious, lingering flavor.
2010 Antinori Tignanello, Toscana, IGT, Italy
80% Sangiovese, 15% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Cabernet Franc
An intense ruby red in color, the aromas of the wine are characterized by a powerful varietal expressiveness, with ample notes of red fruit, raspberries, and liquorice. On the palate, the wine, still very young, immediately shows firm tannins with much polish and finesse as well, along with a balancing, tonic acidity and savory mineral notes which add length and persistence to the finish and aftertaste.
2009 Antinori Guado al Tasso Superiore, Bolgheri, Italy
60% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot, 12% Cabernet Franc, 3% Petit Verdot
On the nose the initial balsamic sensations are followed by aromas of ripe fruit and spices, on the palate is velvety, with soft tannins and much finesse. The finish and aftertaste are well supported by savory mineral notes and much length and persistence.
