WEDNESDAY NIGHT TASTE NOVEMBER 20, 2013

We would like to thank every one for the wonderful turnout at last weeks Wednesday night wine tasting, holiday show and anniversary celebration. It won’t be to long before we are preparing for the next annual event. I know it will be hard to serve wines this Wednesday that could surpass last week but I am giving it my best.

This weeks featured wines include:

2009 Santa Barbara Collection Chardonnay, California

Refreshing style Chardonnay showcases citrus and lemon zest aromas, followed by a polished mouthful of stone fruit and a lively acidity.

2009 Rutherford Hill Barrel Select Red Wine, Napa Valley, California

Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah Crafted with Bordeaux varietals that demonstrate lively aromas of blackcurrant followed by concentrated flavors of blackberry and dark cherries with silky tannins and a long bright finish. The luxurious structure and multi-layered aromatics of this wine showcase the depth, range, and elegance of their world-famous properties. Aged 21 months in French oak barrels

2008 Argiolas ‘Korem’ Isola Dei Nuraghi, red blend, IGT, Italy

Bovale Sardo, Carignano and Cannonau Opaque ruby-red in color, this is a sophisticated wine with layered aromas of blackberry, wild berries, smoky minerality, leather, chocolate and a touch of savory spice. On the palate, the wine offers the same rich breadth of flavors, with incredible balance and velvety, fine-grained tannins.

2007 Pazzo ‘Call Me Crazy’ Sangiovese Blend, Napa Valley, California

Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Viognier Exhibits lots of roasted herb, pepper, spice, red and black fruit notes, a soft underbelly, and luscious density as well as purity.

2010 Mendoza Vineyards Gran Reserva Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina

18 months of aging in French and American oak. The nose is vibrant and well-defined, with lifted cassis, blueberry and blackberry aromas. The palate is medium-bodied with fine, silky tannins and a harmonious patina of dark chocolate-tinged black fruit. This finish of this well-crafted, premium Malbec is reserved and refined.

These are some not to miss wines!
