Now, back to this Wednesday evenings taste:
2011 La Bastarda Pinot Grigio, Sicilia, Italy
Crisp and Refreshing! full of bright citrus and pear fruit flavors with just the right amount of body and structure. It is not quite as dry as the Bianco, but has a more rounded texture.
2011 Fortant Mountains Grand Reserve Pinot Noir, Pays DOC, France
This wine is deep garnet in color. The wine offers a fine, complex nose with notes of wild strawberry, Morello cherry and mocha. Full-bodied and elegant on the palate with pure, complex flavors of cherry and spices. Very long on the finish.
2011 Chateau Les Pasquets Bordeaux, France
Cabernet Franc, cabernet sauvignon and merlot Beautiful ruby red color. Sensual nose of strawberry. Very elegant and well structured in mouth with supple tannins.
2010 Robert Mondavi Winery, Merlot, Napa Valley, California
Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Malbec, and Syrah The wine opens with a lovely, multi-layered perfume of black cherry, cassis and juicy, ripe plum with undertones of fresh herbs, cocoa and clove. These elements carry through seamlessly to the palate, the mouthfeel substantial, round and luxuriously plush. The long, velvety finish is infused with black currant and dark chocolate. ~winemakers notes
2010 Henry Lagarde Single Vineyard Cabernet Franc, Mendoza, Argentina
Earthy plum and berry aromas with hints of brown sugar and baked fruit. Flavors of raspberry and cherry flavors. Firm tannins and acid push to the finish.
